I was born in Binghamton,
NY, and currently live just outside the Binghamton area. I have
lived in many different locals, from Boston to the middle of the
Adirondack Mountains, but something always brings me back to
Binghamton. Sure the art scene here is a bit malnourished, and you
may be asking yourself "Why would an artist live in an area
with a malnourished art scene?" Well what can I say, I love it
here. It's the only place that has ever felt like home, and with a
low cost of living, it's a perfect place for artist's to settle and
help build a great arts community
As most artists articulate
so well in their bios, I have always been interested in the arts.
From my early days with crayons, to my current endeavors with a
Wacom Cintiq, creating visually is my passion. After high school, I
continued my studies at a state university. There my mind was
exposed to the infinite possibilities that exist for a creative
individual. Connecting with professors, resources that go far beyond
a home studio and a cornucopia of art students made for an exciting
experience. I have to mention one professor that I owe a great deal
to, and now consider a close personal friend, Daniel Mosner. His
background is straight out of the French Academy and although I now
work digitally, the techniques in oil painting that he shared have
improved my work ten fold.
After college, with so many options, I
was somewhat unsure of the direction I wanted to head. I greatly
enjoyed painting, and thought about working my way up through the
gallery scene, that is until I stumbled upon the Wacom Cintiq. Let's
just say it wasn't long before I discovered how wonderful digital
painting can be and I replaced my brush with a stylus.
